PSST! Wanne see photos of the 16-year-old Kate Moss holding teddy to her naked bosom? Photographer Kate Garner has a series of prints based on the image. The work is called Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil, See No Evil. But not think no evil, which should come as a relief to many… Says Garner:
“I considered the old maxim, the one where the monkeys avoid evil by blocking their senses, hear none, seeing none, speaking none. I realized that this meaning could also work in reverse. The conventional manner of dealing with what is perceived as evil or threatening to the status quo is to shut it out. Perhaps a more modern approach is to not recognize evil as evil but rather as a part of a great choreography of cause and effect….“
